A civil rights body, the Organisation Undoing Tax Abuse (OUTA) have raised concerns about the inflated contract sums allocated to Sunral for the Guateng Freeway improvement project (GFIP) with an over payment of R9bn.

OUTA stated during a press briefing, held at the Gordon institute of Business Science on Monday that the project which cost Sunral R17bn, could have comfortably cost between R8bn to R9bn.

However, the groups chairperson Wayne Duvenage said that the civil rights body wants to see corrective action taken. Sunrals management was further advised to display accountability in their dealings.
